General Description:
The program doesn't in itself have a sequencer, but the sequencer(s) are actually a set of plugins tightly integrated with the GUI.
Nakalyne has a tick-less sequencing core with the fundamental unit of sequence being the bar (for arrangement) and the fundamental unit of time being the beat (for BPM, because everyone is used to beats per minute). Individual sequence machines may have discretion as to what is a tick or a beat, and may offer their own TPB (ticks per beat) and BPB (beats per bar) timing independent of the main reference timing values, allowing compound timing structures. However all sequence machines will be sent signals according to bar location.
Everything was written in straight Win32 and C++ without any framework to speak of.
Nakalyne will support VSTi, DXi, and Nakalyne's own plugin format for audio instruments. Buzz plugin support is not yet certain.
Nakalyne will support VST, DX, DMO and Nakalyne's own plugin format for audio effects. Buzz plugin support is not yet certain.
Nakalyne will support Nakalyne's own plugin formats for note sequencers, note effects and possibly other kinds of input/output frameworks.
Nakalyne will support Buzz Overloader Recorder plugins.
Buzz support is uncertain because I have to give it some thought.
