Wavelord - Live at Subzero Frequencies 5-18-01 « le: novembre 09, 2005, 11:20:35 am »
Wavelord was born from an ensemble of jazz musicians in San Francisco that seemed to be bored playing standards at standard gigs. This quartet (Michael Bluestein on Rhodes electric piano, jhno on laptop & samples - the names of the upright bassist and drummer have been lost to time) assembled to inject some life into jazz music - infusing the wizardry of jhno (a local SF ambient/electronic legend in his own right). Unlike most of the "Jazz vs. Electronic" failed experiments of the era, Wavelord was able to fully integrate the electronics with steady composition and masterful improvisation. The result was stunning and beautiful. Unfortunately, they have not performed live or recorded ever since this event.

This is a recording from our early years, and employs several microphones made at Amnesia in San Francisco. The recording quality is not perfect because of the club's acoustics, but we thought you'd enjoy the music nonetheless.
