The revival of Flash-era aesthetics and breakcore music « le: février 11, 2026, 09:57:28 am »
Hi everyone,
I've been digging into some recent indie projects that capture the raw, DIY spirit of the early 2000s internet. There is this open-source project called Friday Night Funkin that really nails the old Newgrounds art style.
Musically, it’s quite interesting too lots of breakbeats, funk, and electronic influences. It’s rare to see something become so popular while remaining purely community-driven and open-source. Reminds me of the underground scene back in the day.
Has anyone else checked out the soundtrack or the art direction?
