Necessary though disturbing the vision, the subtitle is an intermediary between the movie and the spectator even if he most often wishes to forget it for better deepening into image and narration.
V.O.S.T. is an evening of video screenings slightly deviating our glance to the bottom of the screen. Creations which are presented – video installations and video screenings – invest the subtitle considered as a catalyst of forms, experiments or narration. This casually invasive or discrete element then occupies its own special place.
V.O.S.T. is the first of a series of evenings curated by Marika Dermineur and Alexis Chazard, and devoted to elements that surround the filmed image.
