Mais surtout, tiré du blog d'un participant :
i hate the 'associated press'. investigative journalism is of the past. how can someone call themselves a journalist when they get their entire stroy form the police department?
the actual events:
show starts around 6 pm at the orange pavillion at san bernardino. kids are stripped of weapons, bondage belts and chains. no alcohol is allowed inside, no ins and outs.90percent of the crowd are under 18 years old.
7:30ish pm: nazi skinheads start fight OUTSIDE, independent of the concert going on inside the auditorium. 2 are seriously injured. cops are called by the security.
8:30pm: tear gas is thrown into the auditorium, a crowd of 1500 kids, without warning. broken bone's sound is cut off, they watch as their fans are struggling to breathe and escape. no one is trampled, luckily. mass confusion. no one can comprehend that the show is over. helicopters swarm overhead telling children to go to their vehicles.
as people are funneled out, they are met with riot police and sprayed with mace, hit with batons. the crowd fights back, destroying 2 cop cars and successfully pushing them back. we enter the lot and foolishly pose for a picture in front of one the cars...the riot police start marching towards us. we are able to meet up with our party and hear popping sounds, the sounds of rubber bullets and bean bags being shot at those who are simply outside a covered vehicle. once again, no warning is given. as we depart from our party to find our car, we hear more popping sounds and jason is hit in the back. it makes him fall to the ground, we were about an aisle away from our car. more popping sounds as the riot squad sweeps the lot.
we sit for twenty minutes, hysterical and helpless to the stranded, vulnerable oustide.police, sherriff deputies, firefighters, and more from surrounding counties work together to oppress and terorrize the concert attendees. kids that were dropped off by their parents, couldn't find their cars or meet up with their parties, all fled the rubber bullets and ran outside onto the streets. the streets became their canvas as they expressed their outrage by breaking storefront glass. businesses, corporate or independent were smashed without discrimination. police blocked off intersections around the pavilion for about a mile radius. to finally find the freeway we had to drive miles out of the way.
never have i felt more alienated from society.- from the forces we are suppossed to grant power and authority to govern us, to stupid "punx" who sing anti-flag lyrics at the riot squad and chalk this experience up as bonafied punk rawk credibility.
