A new tale from Belgiums cut-chemist Kreng. A surprising warm and open EP where Kreng blends avant garde jazz with spanish guitar and glitchy hip hop. "Zomer" (meaning summer in Dutch) is a nice addition to Krengs great cinematic adventures, taking you on a trip to a warm summer night, kreng style...

et j'en profite pour ajouter le lien de son précédent ep qui est tout aussi bon!

The Pleiades were the seven daughters of Atlas and Pleione.

Atlas led the war against the gods, and was afterward condemned by Zeus to hold up the heavens on his shoulders. Orion, the great hunter, began to pursue all of the Pleiades, and Zeus transformed them first into doves, and then into stars to comfort their father. The constellation of Orion is said to still pursue them across the night sky. The sisters literally became stars.

According to some versions of the tale, all seven sisters committed suicide because they were so saddened by either the fate of their father, Atlas, or the loss of their siblings, the Hyades . Zeus, the ruler of the Greek gods, immortalized the sisters by placing them in the sky. There these seven stars form the constellation known as the Pleiades. In the Pleiades star cluster only six of the stars shine brightly, the seventh, Merope, shines dully because she is shamed for eternity for having an affair with a mortal.Kreng brings you the haunting tale of Merope with a Callas-esque scream, roaches, squicks and playfull suggestions.

Kreng has the gift to create an atmosphere you would find with a contemporary impro band. Beyond sequencing, beyond your ordinary electro-jazz outfit, Kreng has taken this to new depths and immortalized the seven sisters in sound with this great (free) EP
