Inexpensive Miniature Synthesizer

Today's low cost miniature circuitry has broken the rules in the synthesizer game and emSynth is here to give you all the advantages!  Based on a new Arduino microprocessor, each emSynth board can be a synth in itself and in small groups they offer tremendous musical possibilities.  Everyone - from new synth beginners to big iron weilding old timers will enjoy emSynth's miniaturization, low cost, and surprising audio dexterity.

The old phenomenon of wealthy purists financing wall-sized investments in sound has enjoyed an immense resurgence in popularity in recent years, but who has ten grand for a synth these days?  Not me and probably not you either, so most of us go with software or we have a small subset of techies who build custom circuits.  These are good options, yet so many of us dream of plugging wires into modules to make our sound just like in the old days.

Well, now we can do that - with "little iron" - AKA emSynth.  You can have your oscillators, sequencers, filters, and even the newer zany whatchamacallits all in miniature form; you just have to dream it up and program it into the microprocessors of your emSynth system, wire them up together however you like on your breadboard(s), and play that music.  I know its corny but its true as well - you are only limited by your imagination!

Citer
emSynth essentially creates a new form factor in the world of modular synthesizers: the breadboard! The history of emSynth goes back to the 1970’s when a man named Stanley Lunetta pioneered the use of tiny digital chips called CMOS (pronounced sea-moss) in creating music. Stan made beautiful copper art sculptures out of CMOS chips that blinked and buzzed and whirred with elegant complexity. Fast forward to today and a crowd of modern enthusiasts are carrying on Stan’s work and adding to it on a daily basis. Much of the activity is discussed on the electro-music forum named after Stan, the Lunetta forum. The emSynth circuits are derived from this ongoing category of music system exploration. We are just beginning to scrape the surface of what is sure to be a wealth of discovery as time unfolds before us. For now, some of us Lunetta designers have gotten together to bring you a small yet rapidly growing collection of miniature music modules that are collectively known as emSynth.

Citer
Hey guys, I hope you're interested in Arduino based synths. I built this little thing in an old first-aid kit box, based on an Arduino Uno. Flexible sequencer added, selectable sound algorithms and per-step effects (inspired by the Pocket Operators). Little goodie: Live waveform display.
I will put up the code and the schematics to github soon.
Hope you like it
:)

Citer
Pyo is a Python module written in C to help DSP script creation. Pyo contains classes for a wide variety of audio signal processing. With pyo, the user will be able to include signal processing chains directly in Python scripts or projects, and to manipulate them in real time through the interpreter. Tools in the pyo module offer primitives, like mathematical operations on audio signals, basic signal processing (filters, delays, synthesis generators, etc.), but also complex algorithms to create sound granulation and other creative audio manipulations. pyo supports the OSC protocol (Open Sound Control) to ease communications between softwares, and the MIDI protocol for generating sound events and controlling process parameters. pyo allows the creation of sophisticated signal processing chains with all the benefits of a mature and widely used general programming language.

Bela is an embedded system for real-time audio processing with ultra-low latency. Based on the BeagleBone Black single-board computer and featuring a custom hardware and software environment, Bela integrates audio processing and sensor connectivity in a single high-performance package.

Bela is an ideal platform for musicians, instrument designers, audio enthusiasts and interactive artists.

Bela was designed for audio hardware projects, but it doesn't stop there. Bela is ideal for any project that requires ultra-fast processing of multiple streams of data for maximum responsiveness. Bela is the core of many electronic musical instruments, but has also been used for kinetic sculpture, interactive installations, even a game played in an analogue oscilloscope.

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/967276512/gecho-loopsynth-a-modern-equivalent-of-the-music-b/description
